This page describes what Dean Freight Software, the business behind deanfreightbroker.com, collects from a visitor to this website, what is done with it, and how to have it corrected or removed. It is short for a plain reason: the site takes in almost nothing.
What the form collects and why
The walkthrough request form asks for your name, your email address, the name of your carrier, roughly how many units you run, how you plan the week today, and a message. The name and address are needed to reply. The carrier name, the unit count and the planning method tell the desk whether the software is a sensible fit before anyone spends an hour on a screen share. The message is yours to write.
When you press send, the form is delivered by a third-party form relay, FormSubmit, which forwards the contents as an email to our mailbox and does not keep a copy for us. We have no account with the relay that stores your submission; the email in our mailbox is the only copy we hold. The relay's own handling of the message in transit is governed by its own policy.
What you send is used to answer you, to prepare a board from a week you choose to share, and for nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list. It is not sold, rented, traded or handed to an advertiser, and there is no marketing partner who receives it.
The one thing kept in your browser
This website keeps a single preference in your browser's local storage under the key dfs_consent_v1. It records whether you accepted or declined analytics and performance measurement, and when. Its only purpose is to stop the notice from appearing on every page.
Nothing reads that preference today except the notice itself. No analytics tool, no advertising pixel and no tag manager is installed on this site at the time of writing, whichever choice you made. The site sets no cookies of its own. If a measurement tool is ever added, it will run only for visitors who chose to allow it, and this page will be rewritten first to say what the tool is.
The only request this site makes to another company's servers is for the two typefaces it uses, loaded from a public font service. That request carries your browser's ordinary connection details and nothing from the form.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can ask to see the personal details we hold about you, have them corrected, have them deleted, receive them in a portable form, or object to a use you disagree with. If you are a California resident, you can ask what personal information we have collected, ask for it to be deleted, opt out of any sale (there is none), and expect not to be treated differently for asking.
Every one of those requests goes to the same place: [email protected]. Say which right you are exercising and give the email address you used, so the message can be found. A reply comes within the time the relevant law allows, and usually within a few working days.
How long a message is kept
A walkthrough request stays in the mailbox while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards so a returning carrier does not have to start again. A message that asks for deletion is honored by deleting the thread it belongs to. A week of loads shared for a walkthrough is removed from our systems once the walkthrough is over unless the carrier goes on to use the software, in which case it becomes the carrier's data inside its own account.
Children
This site is for trucking carriers and is not directed at anyone under eighteen. We do not knowingly collect details from a minor; if a parent believes one has been sent, the mailbox above will remove it.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what is collected is made before the collection starts, not after.
